Saopha of Kengtung ( Shan Prince of Kyaingtong)

Hello ! everyone ! Today, my exam is finished, I will go back to Burma on Sunday. I 'm so excited to see my  relatives, well, no friends :) I lost contact with them or most of them moved to foreign countries. I decided I will write about someone after my exam. I got an idea that I shall write about an ethnic leader this time.

Because I strongly believed that ethic people shall know each other history as we are coexisting in Burma.
Please if you are reading this article and if you have knowledge about some leaders,  for sharing here, you can tell me. Welcome any sharing ! I am just amateur historian and my sources will not be credible like scholars so I allow any criticism, comments , advice and edits here :)

Please do not hesitate to share your knowledge about your ethnic past ! let all our brothers and sisters know it :) By the way, my article for this time is about the ancient Shan Prince ( Sao Pha, Chaofa or Saw Bwa) of Kengtung or Kyaing Tong Principality.

Queen Phwar Saw of Bagan

I wrote an wiki article about her because she is the one of most famous and influential  women in the history of Myanmar. So, we have to learn about her in the grade 11 ( matriculation text book) about her. Mostly, we learned about the stone inscriptions of Her in the dedication to her deeds which is building the pagoda and donation various things including the servants to maintain and work in the pagoda. We can see many villages and the names of the pagoda builders with name of Phwar Saw, but it is important to note that there are serveral Phwar Saw in the different periods of  Bagan. The queen that I would like to mention about is Queen Phwar Saw of Seikkyaung, the Last queen of Bagan.

Ancient city Bagan, Myanmar
I wrote an Wikipedia article about Queen Phwarsaw of Bagan , unfortunately, I did not know how to write professionally there so it just disappear after I published it.

As you may know, Bagan was not first historical period of Myanmar civilization but it was one of the most prosperous and golden periods in the history of Myanmar. In Myanmar, to discuss about Bagan period is debatable because of lack of strong historical evidences and scholarly research. We have not preserve our historical evidences well because of the various reasons.

  • Some of the evidences may disappear along with the time.
  • Lack of technologies and methods to preserve them in term of long period
  • Government restrictions and lack of tradition to support and recruitment of historians.
Maybe my knowledge about Bagan may have some misunderstanding or error in this publish. If so, anyone who read this blog can give me suggestion and corrections. I will appreciate anyone's scholarly suggestions
:)

My Own History !

Hello ! everyone ! I'd like to express who I am and why I am so interested in history ! I'm Nyan Moe Htet from Myanmar, but I 'm currently studying in Rangsit International College of Thailand with International Relations and Development. Well, since my childhood, history become my bedtime storyteller. I always like to enjoy myself reading a book like ," the Last Days of Thibaw- the last Burmese King" in my free time.

I was dreamed to become a historian.. a well-established, knowledgeable and famous one who contributes well known historical researches. Unfortunately, my dream did not become come true.

Anyway, I always happy and never bore to read long complicated history books which are filled with various
dates, several events and diversity of characters.

OK :) here, my blog will be about my translating of the historical books and its characters + events of Myanmar, its may also include the old photos and other things concerned with history. I 'd present not just the history of Burmese people, and also ethnics '. What I am aiming to do is to let foreign people to understand the culture and history of Myanmar Nation.
